We currently have three (3) openings at our Canonsburg, PA office for full-time entry-level field Geologists to add to our already well-established team. The position involves planning and implementing boring programs for the geotechnical design of transportation projects, primarily in Pennsylvania, with a potential for Ohio, Maryland, and Virginia. Tasks will include drilling oversight, geologic logging, collecting field data, evaluating and interpreting geologic data, and daily reporting of site activities. Initially, the candidate will focus on a 14-week training program for certification as a PennDOT Certified Test Boring inspector. Upon successfully passing the test, the candidate will work on active design projects.
The ideal candidate will be an enthusiastic self-starter with a positive “can do” attitude. They must like working with people, enjoy working outdoors, and can work alone and in a group. The position is approximately 75% travel and fieldwork. Compensation for all your travel expenses and travel time to and from the job is included.

These entry-level field positions will be based in our headquarters in Canonsburg, Pennsylvania.
Our firm primarily provides specialist services to larger engineering firms and private clients. A large segment of our work is related to geotechnical design for new highways, bridge replacements, and roadway rehabilitation projects. We also provide geotechnical services to various airports for pavement repairs, taxiway, and runway extensions or repairs, and miscellaneous safety or other improvements. Other work includes foundation investigations for retail and commercial developments, shopping malls, and wastewater treatment facilities.
